Soulcatcher by simen91 Soulcatcher by simen91
Time spent: 10+ hours

What looks like death to some may look like life to others.

The soulcatcher was made with resources from these deviants:

I used a reference photo from [link] to make the skull.

The size makes it perfect to use as an iPhone (or other smartphone) background :la:

This piece struck me hard when I first took a look at it. I don't know if this is what you intended but when the skull shaped smoke comes out of the cigar like that, it's as if to stress the fact that smoking can ultimately cause death. What is amazing about this is that you present the smoke cloud as a rainbow, in dark space, giving it this mysterious happy atmosphere. That is why I give you a 5 on vision and a 5 on impact.

As far as originality goes, you used all those stock images to create something entirely different, so I give you a 4.5.

The composition seems to be a bit off the center, the smoke touches to the top of the canvas and there is space to the left and bottom of the piece. So, for technique, I'd give you a 4. That could be altered a bit...

Overall, this is one of those pieces I can stare at and wonder what it means, and to have an artwork like that is truly remarkable. Keep up the fantastic creativity!

Imagine, actually puffing out a rainbow (or grey) color skull, out of a cigar, now that would be epic.

I've seen images similar to this before, but never as colorful or mystical. Sometimes pictures such as this can turn people away, but this one draws the eye instead. It did really get my attention. Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
